More than a quarter of Generation Y men prefer Bitcoin to real estate
A recent survey by Get Living, a UK property developer, revealed that 21% of Generation Y prefer to invest in Bitcoin (BTC) at the expense of real estate.
Generation Y chooses Bitcoin
Young people aged 21 to 35 are turning to BTC investment at the expense of real estate investment, according to a Get Living study. The company surveyed 3,065 Generation Y youth in the UK to determine their preference. Three-quarters ostensibly said that investing in Cryptocurrency was more rewarding.
It seems that men are more interested than their female counterparts.
43% of men prefer BTC to government bonds and 31% choose BTC for gold.
Investing in real estate is too risky
57% of Generation Y, however, expressed fear about investing in real estate. Real estate agents recommend that those considering buying a home continue to rent because it is a “high-risk” investment. This means that the choice of those who opt for Bitcoin is not entirely attributed to the merits of digital money, it is a choice by elimination.
It seems that young people are more sensitive to emerging technologies because 42% of people aged 21 to 35 had already heard about Bitcoin, while only 15% of people aged 65 and over have heard about Bitcoin.
